Bigger, Bolder and more sleeker than ever, Rolex announced the newest member of its Yacht-Master family at Baselworld 2019 – The Yacht-Master 42 (Reference 226659). This is the first 42mm Yacht-Master in the collection and adds a little more wrist presence in comparison to the 40mm versions we’ve seen in the past. Trust us when we say 2mm makes quite a difference.
For this new release, Rolex has gone with an extremely neutral and adaptable 18 ct white gold case which also guarantees waterproofness to a depth of 100 metres (330 feet). The sleek white gold bidirectional rotatable bezel with a raised 60-minute graduation, Cerachrom insert in matt black ceramic and the black lacquer dial makes a suave statement.
Like all Rolex Professional watches, the Yacht-Master 42 offers exceptional legibility in all circumstances, and especially in the dark, thanks to its Chromalight display. The 18 ct white gold broad hands and hour markers are filled with a luminescent material emitting a long-lasting glow.
The watch is fitted with Rolex’s patented Oysterflex bracelet, which singularly combines the robustness and reliability of a metal bracelet with the flexibility, comfort and aesthetics of an elastomer strap. An Oysterlock folding safety clasp in 18 ct white gold prevents accidental opening, while a Glidelock extension system on the bracelet allows the wearer to adjust the length of the bracelet by some 15 mm in increments of approximately 2.5 mm, without the use of tools.
Becoming a whole lot more powerful in 2019, the Yacht-Master 42 runs on the new generation 3235 calibre, which provides a magnanimous 70-hour power reserve. It is also the first time this calibre has been used in a Yacht-Master watch.
Perfect for the conservative lot with a liberal mindset.
