TAG Heuer introduces two Aston Martin Special Edition Chronographs at the 2018 International Geneva Motor Show

by Hours and Minutes Australia

Following the announcement of TAG Heuer’s partnership with Aston Martin and Aston Martin Racing as Official Partner, Watch Partner and Connected Watch Partner, the Swiss Watchmaking brand unveiled two Aston Martin special edition chronographs at the 2018 International Geneva Motor Show, showcasing the DNA of the British car brand.

Inspired by the geometric shapes, colours, patterns and materials characteristic of Aston Martin’s sports cars, every detail of these two limited edition chronographs imparts a creative touch and recalls the overarching automotive spirit of the partnership.

TAG Heuer Carrera Calibre Heuer 01 Chronograph

This watch draws its inspiration from Aston Martin’s luxury universe. The black opaline dial is skeletonised in a hexagonal pattern that recalls the details on the new Aston Martin Vantage. Visible through the dial is TAG Heuer’s famous Calibre Heuer 01 movement. The parallel lines pattern on the side of the 45mm steel case (Specially created for this watch) evoke speed, the race track and piston and the black brushed ceramic tachymeter bezel has the word Aston Martin engraved on it. In another of the piece’s exclusive features, the shape of the lugs has been revisited, taking inspiration from the lines of Aston Martin’s emblematic bodywork.

TAG Heuer Formula 1 Chronograph

Next up is the new Formula 1 Chronograph, TAG Heuer’s ultimate motor racing model, synonymous with performance and speed. Inspired by Aston Martin racing, the first thing you’ll probably notice about this timepiece is the black and lime essence color contrast. Right from the indexes, seconds hand to Aston Martin’s famous winged logo to the top stitching on the leather strap; all don Aston Martin Racing’s specific shade of lime essence.  Entirely in steel and measuring 43 mm in diameter, this quartz chronograph features a notched steel bezel and an aluminium ring with a tachymeter scale. The movement is accurate to a tenth of a second – an indispensable feature in a motor racing watch – and is displayed on the small counter at 6 o’clock, with the minute counter at 9 o’clock and the current seconds counter at 3 o’clock. Exclusively for Aston Martin, this is also the first time TAG Heuer has used a Leather strap in their Formula 1 collection.
