Oris Australia
16 March, 2017: Stomach-churning aerobatics, swarms of attack helicopters, R22 Raptors, Super Hornets, F16’s, F35 Joint Strikers, the Air force’s C17A Globemaster III and our very own Oris Pilots’ – Skip Stewart and Jurgis Kairys (aka Oris’ Tin Styx of Dynamite); all took centre stage over one action packed weekend at Avalon earlier this month.

Oris have a long history of manufacturing aviation watches, starting in 1939 with their Big Crown Pointer Date, so being the official watch sponsor and timing partner of Australia’s biggest Airshow at Avalon made perfect sense.
Throughout the day guests, VIPs and select media were hosted at the ‘Oris Shed’ in true ‘Oris Style’. From the thrilling, gravity-defying skills of some of the world’s best pilots to Australia’s very own musician and Jazz legend, James Morrison performing the finest tracks.

What put us on a watch high though, was the unveiling of the new Royal Flying Doctor Service Limited Edition II, a partnership that started in 2013. ‘We’re so proud to be working with the Royal Flying Doctor Service again and to be supporting the invaluable work the organisation does to bring medical relief to remote parts of Australia. We’re confident the Oris Royal Flying Doctor Service Limited Edition II will prove a useful tool to doctors as they care for patients.’ commented Oris Chairman Ulrich W. Herzog.
Scott Chapman, Chief Executive of the Royal Flying Doctor Service further added, ‘Our great thanks to Oris for their continued support of our work. As a non-profit, our service relies heavily on the help and generosity of our supporters. Oris’s contributions have made a huge difference to our work in the past, and will do again. There’s no doubt that sales of this new watch will help RFDS save lives.’
