The Super Chronomat, Breitling’s boldest Chronomat to date, is the ultimate choice for those who want a timepiece mastering the balance between sturdy and stylish. Inspired by the Frecce Tricolori watch that Breitling created for the hotshots of the Italian Air Force’s aerobatic fleet in 1983, the Super Chronomat is a supercharged, all-purpose sports watch that’s elegant enough for the evening as well.
With a screwed stainless-steel caseback and a ratcheted unidirectional rotating bezel, the Chronomat B01 Chronograph 44 is equal to any adventure. Its new understated satin-brushed case lends this timepiece a subtle contemporary flair that makes it the perfect partner for a night on the town.
This exceptional chronograph has been created in two versions, one with a Blackeye blue dial and the other with a Blackeye gray dial. The hands and the distinctive hour markers are coated with Super-LumiNova®, making them easy to read in all lighting conditions.
Both versions boast contrasting small second, 30-minute, and 12-hour chronograph subdials, an indication of the Breitling Manufacture Caliber 01 movement inside. The dial, which has a date window ideally positioned between 4 and 5 o’clock, is clearly legible through a convex sapphire crystal with anti-reflective coating on both sides.
With its dual-acting ball-bearing rotor, the Breitling Manufacture Caliber 01 has a power reserve in excess of 70 hours. You could take this watch off on Thursday night for a long weekend (not that you would want to) and it would still be ready for action and keeping perfect time when the new week begins.
The Chronomat B01 Chronograph 44 is water-resistant to 50 bar (500 meters). As with all Breitling wrist- watches, it is a COSC-certified chronometer.
BREITLING for BENTLEY introduces the Bentley GT “Dark Sapphire” Edition to welcome the new champion.
Bentley GT “Dark Sapphire” Edition once again seals the bond between a renowned car manufacturer and an equally respected watchmaker. The craft of watchmaking has a special place in the world of cars and automobiles. Why not? Watches that are mechanical at heart will reflect elements and techniques of mechanics. So, bonds between watch and car manufacturers are not surprising in the watch world.
Here, British chic meets Swiss excellence. BREITLING for BENTLEY is a collection of watches that merge the worlds of watches and cars. The latest example of this collaboration is the Bentley GT “Dark Sapphire” Edition.
A new roadgoing champion
A new champion was introduced by the car manufacturer at Frankfurt Motor Show 2017. This one is a dramatic new interpretation of the classic Bentley design that is long and sharp-edged, with a new optimised 6-litre W12 TSI engine, state-of-the-art on board equipment, a refined and beautifully hand-crafted interior: with the third generation of the Continental GT. Bentley is thus redefining the quintessence of Grand Touring by providing a blend of luxury and performance that is more potent than ever.
A watch to mark the launch
Breitling for Bentley marks the occasion by launching the Bentley GT “Dark Sapphire” Edition, a limited edition reflecting the entire spirit of the new roadgoing champion. The timepiece has an ultra-light and ultra-sturdy chassis made of Breitlight enhanced by bluish “Dark Sapphire” tints. Its exclusive engine is equipped with a “30-second chronograph”. The Bentley GT watch pays a vibrant tribute to the all-new Bentley Continental GT unveiled by the British manufacturer.
Breitlight is a Breitling-exclusive high-tech material distinguished by its peerless qualities (resistance to scratching, traction and corrosion, along with non-magnetic, thermal stability and non-allergenic properties). Its subtly black streaked effect takes on a bluish shimmer echoing the colour of the Bentley “Dark Sapphire” livery. The dial features a diamond motif picking up the pattern appearing in several areas of the Continental GT interior and dashboard controls.
The exceptional “motorisation” takes the form of a Manufacture Breitling B06 calibre officially chronometer-certified by the COSC. This movement entirely developed and produced in the Breitling Chronométrie workshops is distinguished by its ingenious “30-second chronograph” system inspired by a 1926 Breitling patent, with a central hand completing a full sweep of the dial in half a minute – ensuring extremely accurate readings of times to the nearest eight of a second.
The Bentley GT “Dark Sapphire” Edition is fitted with a rubber strap especially created for this model and bearing the same diamond motif as the dial – secured by a pushpiece-operated folding clasp. It is an exceptional instrument issued in a 500-piece limited edition.
Highlighting the spirit of innovation, the new Chronospace Evo B60 incorporates an analogue-display quartz movement entirely developed by and for Breitling.
The Chronospace Evo B60 is a sturdy and light watch, thanks to its titanium case. But the real highlight of this timepiece is the fact that it has the first analogue-display quartz movement entirely developed by Breitling: a SuperQuartz TM chronograph calibre with 24-hour counter, central minutes and split times.
The Chronospace Evo model had already established its high credentials as the only electronic model exclusively equipped with pointer-type displays. It’s now also the first Breitling model to house an analogue-display quartz movement entirely developed and produced by the brand.
This ‘engine’ has been developed and produced in Switzerland with aviation-dedicated functions and features.
- It has precision that is ten times greater than a standard quartz movement
- The chronometer is certified by the COSC (Swiss Official Chronometer Testing Institute)
- Tenths of a second are displayed in a counter between 2 and 3 o’clock. The two central chronograph hands – a red-tipped one for the seconds and a white-tipped one for the minutes – serve to read off measured times with complete clarity, whatever the visibility conditions.
- There is a 24-hour counter between 9 and 10 o’clock, dedicated to missions lasting an entire day.
- By pressing the pushpiece at 4 o’clock, the user can stop the chronograph hands at will to measure split times. A further press on this same pusher then enables the hands to “catch up with” the correct position and to continue the timing operation in progress. This helps when one is required to keep track of feats achieved by several competitors taking part in a race, or to measure several successive times during a mission.
- Legibility of the displays is further enhanced by large white luminescent hands and hour-markers standing out against the dark dial background.
- The unidirectional rotating bezel ensures an excellent grip thanks to its four rider tabs serving to mark off times.
- The titanium case, water-resistant to 100 m, is fitted with protective reinforcements for its screw-locked crown.
The new Chronospace Evo B60 is available in a black dial version with slate grey counters and a blue dial version with black counters. It is equipped with a bracelet in titanium or strap in leather or rubber.
