Inspired by the open-road race for which it was named, the Mille Miglia Classic Chronograph is an elegant emblem of sporting endurance and vintage charm.
Chopard has proudly served as the official timekeeper of the 1000 mile race since it’s resurrection in 1977, and the brand’s Mille Miglia collection is a tribute to the classic cars that participate in the race.
Race to the Finish
The newest launch in the Mille Miglia collection, the Mille Miglia Classic Chronograph seamlessly combines both high quality mechanics and unparalleled performance. The red arrow-shaped ‘Rossa Corsa’ or road sign logo is displayed at 12 o’clock on the deep blue dial. The 42mm stainless steel case features two traditional pushers and a fluted crown, reminiscent of the original chronographs, which lend credence to this timepieces’ retro feel. The Mille Miglia’s Rossa Corsa logo makes an appearance on the sapphire crystal exhibition case back as well.
The powerful self-winding chronograph ‘engine’, certified by the Swiss Official Chronometer Testing Institute (COSC) which requires the highest standards of precision, has a power reserve of about 42 hours. The Mille Miglia Classic Chronograph indicates hours, minutes and seconds, with counters at 6, 9 and 3 o’clock respectively.
Truly a watch for a passionate racing fan, the red-tipped seconds hand allows the avid racing fan to mark off the seconds in a race and the tachymeter scale allows the driver to calculate his average speed. Even the font is evocative of car dashboards from the 1920’s, and the contrast between the deep blue dial and the large Arabic numerals ensures perfect legibility in any condition.
