INTRODUCING: Hublot Big Bang One Click 33mm

Two versions, fourteen possibilities…

Adding pizzazz without being too over the top is a tough job, but that’s probably how I’d like to describe the new Hublot Big Bang One Click 33mm unveiled at LVMH Watch Week 2021. Dressed in the codes of its alter ego, the emblematic Big Bang Unico, and its big sister launched in 2016 as a 39-mm model without chronograph, the Big Bang One Click 33mm comes in two versions – Stainless Steel and 18K King Gold with interchangeable straps.

Further refined for slender wrists, these watches can change their appearance in no time at all to suit your mood all thanks to a wide palette of different coloured straps on offer (Color options include white, pink, sky blue, black, red, royal blue, orange, and green rubber, while calfskin options include raspberry pink, electric blue and terracotta orange). The watches take on an alternative appearance in just a click of a button.

 

The 36 diamonds set in the bezel combined with a Matt black or white dial, add just the right amount of glamour and opulence to the watch. Other details include: the alternating gold-plated hour markers and indices and date window at 3 o clock.

These timepieces runs on an MHUB1120 Self-winding Movement with an impressive 40 hour-power reserve, and are water resistant up to 100m.

LVMH Watch Week 2021: Hublot Big Bang Integral Ceramic In White, Navy blue and Grey

15 years in the making, the Big Bang Integral collection made its debut only last year at LVMH Watch Week 2020 in Dubai in three case materials – Titanium, King Gold, and a black ceramic limited edition. It featured the FIRST integrated metal bracelet, with the first link fused with the case. For LVMH Watch Week 2021, Hublot is expanding its Big Bang Integral collection with three new timepieces crafted entirely from high-tech ceramic: White, Navy blue and Grey, all with built-in scratch resistance, durability and hypoallergenic properties.

 

 

Based on the all black ceramic limited edition launched last year, ‘The Big Three’ as Hublot calls it, features a monobloc architecture: the 42mm polished and satin finished case, bezel, caseback and bracelet are all crafted from coloured ceramic. A signature material at Hublot, ceramic represents the perfect fusion of hardness and lightness (two to three times harder than steel and 30% lighter). An unparalleled material in perfect harmony with the skin – soft to the touch and a delight to wear thanks to its low thermal conductivity.  Just about everything here is made from ceramic except for the bezel lugs and the rubber elements on the crown and pushers.

Refined to the core, the skeletonised dial offers a peek into the movement of the watch.  Hublot has gone with Applied indices instead of Arabic Numerals keeping the overall dial layout nice and minimal. The date aperture sits amidst a 60-minute chronograph counter at 3 o’clock.

The watches are powered by the Unico proprietary manufacture movement in its V2 incarnation, the HUB1280, a modified version of its predecessor, the Unico HUB1242. Changes include the loss of the escapement platform, a thinner automatic winding system with a slimmer 1.3-mm movement, four new patented technical innovations (oscillating seconds clutch, chronograph friction system with ball-bearing adjustment, ratchet retaining system with unidirectional gears and index-assembly fine adjustment system). This updated version of the Unico features a redesigned architecture for easier assembly and more legible functions. As for the bracelet, polished and satin-finished surfaces, and the bevelling and chamfering of the links create the same effect of depth and contrast as between the case and the bezel lug.

LVMH Watch Week 2021: Hublot Classic Fusion Takashi Murakami All Black

In a nod to their bold and audacious design language, Hublot, at LVMH Watch Week 2021, in collaboration with Japanese contemporary artist Takashi Murakami, unveiled the new Classic Fusion Takashi Murakami All Black. This 200 piece limited edition is an ode to Murakami’s artistic emblem, the smiling flower.

For starters, the Classic Fusion Takashi Murakami All Black takes up one of the most evocative Hublot signatures, the All Black. Coincidently the “All Black” style also happens to be one of Murakami’s artistic signatures. The dial is really where all the magic is. It screams Art. Murakami’s artistic emblem, the smiling flower, is present both in and on the watch. Thanks to an ingenious ball-bearing system developed by Hublot’s engineers, its petals start turning. The center of the smiling flower is inserted onto the sapphire glass, creating a unique three-dimensional effect to go along with its wide prominent smile. For an even more pronounced effect, the petals (456 brilliants) and face (107 brilliants) are set with black diamonds. And finally the icing on the cake – The Flower Shaped Crown. I couldn’t really imagine a brand like Hublot doing something like this, but the result is simply breathtaking.

The 45mm case and bezel are made from Satin-finished and Polished Black Ceramic making the watch even more special. The Classic Fusion Takashi Murakami All Black is a fine example of marrying the technical requirements to the art without changing the creative message of the artist.

To suit the requirements of the modern man on the go, the watch is fitted with a manufacture UNICO self-winding MHUB1214 calibre which beats at a frequency of 4Hz and delivers a 72-hour power reserve.

INTRODUCING: HUBLOT Big Bang Unico Full Baguette King Gold Rainbow

Whenever I hear Rainbow-set watches, I’m all eyes and all ears. There’s something riveting and gloriously pacifying about these special pieces. Yes? No? Like a summer sky after a storm, Hublot presents the new Big Bang Unico Full Baguette King Gold Rainbow.

The most outstanding feature of this timepiece is the 18-karat pink gold case, whose bezel has been embellished with 112 baguette-cut coloured gemstones, selected especially to match the hues of the rainbow. The rainbow stretches across the entire 45-mm case; one hundred rubies, pink sapphires, amethysts, blue sapphires, blue topazes, tsavorites, and yellow and orange sapphires line up in a radiant chromatic composition. The gem-setting on this watch is simply remarkable.

Another element I find quite interesting is the use of gemstones (48) on the matte 18K King Gold Skeleton dial. The coordination and mastery of exceptional skills—selecting, cutting, sorting and setting—which totally encompass the radical plans of Hublot micromechanics.

The HUB 1242 UNICO chronograph flyback mechanism with double clutch mechanism and column wheel, powering this beauty, has been developed and manufactured in-house by Hublot with 330 individually hand-assembled components constructed in a way that allows the wearer to admire the mechanics from the dial as well as the see-through case back. The watch also delivers a power reserve of 72 hours. Putting the finishing touches to this jewellery piece, the celestial phenomenon unfolds across the alligator and natural rubber strap and illuminates the buckle clasp set with 30 other gemstones.

Hublot has never taken the traditional route, whether it’s brand positioning, brand strategy or even the watches themselves. Often labeled as a brand that has earned its popularity and credibility purely on the basis of marketing, let’s admit it, with the launch of the Big Bang, Hublot did change the way people perceive larger watches.

As for the Big Bang Millennial Pink – I can’t get enough of it. Why? Simple – It’s Pink! and those who know me, clearly know my obsession for the colour. True to its nature the 42-mm case made from modern, lightweight aluminium, a monochrome material, anodised, satin-finished and through-tinted millennial pink sets the perfect tone here. The “pink” here is not just any pink but a unique shade that is obtained by anodisation. Anodisation is a process which both protects and decorates a part, and which has the advantage of giving the case and its components the desired pastel shade. But that’s not it. It also has a remarkable resistance to scratches and impacts. The new Big Bang Millennial Pink is powered by an HUB1280 UNICO Manufacture self-winding chronograph movement that delivers a 72-hour power reserve. That gorgeous mat pink millennial skeleton dial is replete with intricate detailing including the mat pink appliques with white luminescent and the double clutch mechanism and column wheel.

The Big Bang Millennial Pink is supplied with two straps that completely repurpose the unconventional. The first is made from rubber and has a deployant buckle made from titanium covered with a decorative layer of the same anodised and satin-finished millennial pink aluminium as the case. The second strap is a mix of Velcro and knitted PES fabric, and is secured with a sporty buckle in millennial pink anodised and polished aluminium. The two straps are easily interchangeable thanks to Hublot’s exclusive patented One Click system.

Disruptive, creating new codes for traditional luxury, the Big Bang Millennial Pink produced in collaboration with Garage Italia will only be available in a very exclusive limited edition of 200 pieces.

Hublot is no stranger to the womens category. From iridescent dials to diamond-encrusted bezels, to durable movements, the brand has done it all and in the process left every woman feeling a million bucks. Tapping into the pastel trends of today, Hublot presents four new Spirit of Big Bang 39mm timepieces in shades of light pink and light blue.

The Spirit of Big Bang 39mm collection for women could work wondrously well as an everyday watch. LVMH WATCH WEEK DUBAI 2020: Hublot Big Bang Sang Bleu II Blue

The idiosyncratic collaboration between Hublot and tattoo artist Maxime Plescia-Büchi takes an ambitious direction this year. At LVMH Watch Week Dubai 2020, Hublot unveiled four new limited edition Sang Blue II timepieces, all of em decked out in Blue, just like the ink used by the Sang Bleu tattoo studio.

The Big Bang Sang Bleu II is a horological expression of Büchi’s perfect mastery of geometry and volume. The finely-chiselled lines and three-dimensional effect, will immediately draw your attention to the case. The hexagonal bezel is something you may like or may not.. but personally I find it quite refreshing.

The dial plays with transparency, allowing glimpses of the HUB1240.MXM UNICO Manufacture self-winding chronograph flyback movement. It is feat of construction, almost architectural in scope, in a 45-mm case. The chronograph seconds are tracked along a straight hand, whilst the chronograph minutes complete their laps on one of the two discs on the dial. It oscillates at a frequency of 28,800 vibrations per hour, for a period of 72 hours.

Hublot delights Ferrari Fans with the Big Bang Ferrari Scuderia 90th Anniversary Sapphire

Since Day 1, Hublot had a lot to prove and the strategy was simple – break the clutter with the unimaginable. Hublot’s obsession with unusual materials and unconventional designs pretty much paved the way for their success; making it one of the most sought after brands today.

This year is a special one for Hublot and its longstanding partner Ferrari. It’s the 90th year since the foundation of Scuderia Ferrari and to mark the occasion, Hublot introduced three exclusive timepieces earlier this year, including a futuristic looking sapphire version – formally known as ‘Big Bang Scuderia Ferrari 90th Anniversary Sapphire’.

At 45mm, this watch commands a lot of attention. Invisible visibility or visible invisibility, no concept can exist without its own opposite, and Hublot confirms the adage by blending the visible and the invisible. The outer case is made from Polished Sapphire and the inner case is fitted with a sapphire crystal with Anti-reflective Treatment. Affixed to the case is a bezel cut in ceramic carbon; the same material that is used for Formula 1 brake discs. By streamlining the pushers, I feel, Hublot has made the case a whole lot sleeker. The little touches of red has a striking presence and is sure to please every Ferrari fan.

In contrast to the thematic transparency of the watch, is the semi-skeletonised dial at the centre. At 3 o clock, you’ve got a a tachymeter-style minute counter which encloses the date window against a yellow backdrop. Each of the three versions of the Hublot Big Bang Scuderia Ferrari 90th Anniversary watch, bears one of the three colours of the Scuderia on its border, the numbers and the indexes. For this release Hublot has gone with Black. Other call outs include the tip of the chronograph hand which bears the colours of the Italian Flag, the prancing horse at 6 o clock and the Ferrari logo on the left side of the case. The Black Rubber and Kevlar Pattern fabric strap with light grey stitching too is in alliance with the whole Ferrari race look and is secured onto the wrist with a Titanium Deployant Buckle Clasp.

The flyback chronograph and the column wheel visible through the dial are powered by an in-house HUB1241 UNICO movement with a power reserve of 72 hours.

Limited to 90 pieces, the new Hublot Big Bang Scuderia Ferrari 90th Anniversary Sapphire is priced at approximately  $89,000 Australian Dollars.

Hublot Classic Fusion Wild Customs

No one harnesses the power of fusion…and the power of collaborations more than Hublot! This time round Hublot presents the Classic Fusion Wild Customs, a beautiful piece born out of a collaboration between the power trio- HUBLOT x WILD CUSTOMS x LAURENT PICCIOTTO.

“Everybody knows Laurent and his passion for exquisite machines–watches, electric guitars, motorbikes… Ardent, original, innovative and surprising, he is a key player in the watchmaking world. Often the first to see the magic in off-the-wall projects, he is unique and different. It was with him that we opened the world’s first Hublot boutique at 271, Rue Saint-Honoré 75001, Paris. By coincidence, Wild Customs and Hublot Saint-Honoré, of which he is the owner, both came into being in 2008. So when we were designing a watch for Hublot Paris Saint-Honoré, we were immediately taken with his idea to create a watch as Wild as his guitar”, says Ricardo Guadalupe

The Classic Fusion Wild Customs clearly represents a mélange of watchmaking and music. It uses iconography to tell the story of rock’n’roll, and symbolises the revolution, the independent guitar maker is about to unleash on the music world with the Gyrock – an innovative mechanism designed by Laurent Picciotto. As the world’s first Hublot boutique opened at 271, Rue Saint-Honoré in Paris, the City of Light was awakening to the sound of Wild Customs electric guitars–instruments conceived at the place where the boldest expressions of craftsmanship, jewellery making and industrial design come together. The point of fusion of these two worlds is Laurent Picciotto, a passionate, adventurous collector and lover of fine watches and electric guitars. His pioneering spirit awakened an affinity with Hublot from the moment the Big Bang was conceived, and also propelled him into the Wild Customs adventure, where his goal is to revolutionise the electric guitar industry.

The 45 mm creation is available in aged titanium or bronze in tribute to the “relic” technique employed by luthiers. Stylised skulls engraved on the bezel are a nod to the classic emblem of rock music. These alternate with an Art Deco pattern that adorns the watch from case to dial. An homage to the avant-garde spirit and the industrialisation of the early twentieth century, inspired by the famous Empire State Building and its magnificent hall. Exuding the energy of rock music, the lightning seconds hand in surf green celebrates the pioneering spirit of the 1950s and 1960s–the golden age of the electric guitar–and its unrivalled creativity.

The Classic Fusion Wild Customs is driven by the HUB 1100 self-winding mechanical movement. Featuring a strap in brown vintage leather or black leather stitched onto rubber, the watch is available in a limited edition of 2×100 numbered pieces, accompanied by a plectrum in blackened bronze and aged titanium and an exclusive presentation case inspired by the two brands.

The Classic Fusion Wild Customs is available exclusively from the Hublot Boutique at 271 Rue Saint-Honoré, 75001 Paris until the end of July, and from other partner boutiques from August.

INTRODUCING: Hublot Classic Fusion Aerofusion Chronograph ICC Cricket World Cup 2019 Watch

The ICC Cricket World Cup 2019 is here! and in the words of Belinda Clark, Executive General Manager of Game and Market Development at Cricket Australia… our boys are ‘WELL PLACED’ to defend their title this winter. As the Official Timekeeper of the World Cup, Hublot will time every 48-over match being hosted in the UK and Wales, from the 30th of May to the 14th of July.

Known to partner with some of the biggest names in the world of sport, Hublot, the Swiss watchmaker, is the first watch brand to work with the ICC (International Cricket Council) and to partner with its elite international cricketing events.

To commemorate the grand collaboration, at Baselworld 2019, Hublot presented the new limited edition Classic Fusion Chronograph ICC Cricket World Cup 2019 watch, that also marks the Swiss Watchmakers role as Official Timekeeper and Official Watch of this summer’s ICC Cricket World Cup 2019.

Limited to 100 pieces, the Hublot Classic Fusion Chronograph ICC Cricket World Cup 2019 is the second cricket watch created by Hublot and picks up from the original Cricket World Cup watch produced in 2015, which was won by Australia.

If you haven’t noticed already, everything about the watch speaks cricket. The grey and red detailing on the dial, satin-finished and polished ceramic bezel and leather and rubber strap are inspired by the colour palette of this year’s event logo; the hands of the twin counters for the chronograph minutes and small seconds are shaped like cricket bats; the triple appliqué hour marker at 12 o’clock mirrors the three wooden stumps guarded by a batsman; and the sapphire case back is decorated with the ICC Cricket World Cup 2019 logo.

The 45mm satin-finished and polished titanium case houses an HUB1155, automatic chronograph movement with a date at 6 o clock.

Hublot has been heavily invested in cricket since it partnered with the ICC Cricket World Cup 2015. Today, the Swiss Watchmaker also counts Australian cricketing legend Michael Clarke as an Official Ambassador, and Indian limited overs vice-captain Rohit Sharma as a Friend of the Brand. In February, Hublot announced former England Ashes-winning captain and international cricket commentator Michael Vaughn as a Friend of the Brand.
