Earlier this year, at LVMH Watch Week 2021, Contemporary French artist Richard Orlinski and Hublot joined forces once again to unveil two very special Classic Fusion Orlinski 40mm timepieces that truly exemplify Hublot’s “Art Of Fusion” motto.
“I’m delighted to unveil two new versions of the Classic Fusion Orlinski. These two monochrome editions are perfectly in line with the DNA of the fusion of our two worlds, that of the House of Hublot, which shapes precious materials and dreams up extraordinary products, and mine, a world of pop and colour”, Richard Orlinski, ARTIST
Both these timepieces (Flashy blue and gloss black) are entirely clad in ceramic, with the exception of the strap and the crown. Ceramic has been a material of choice for Hublot ever since the launch of its iconic Big Bang collection in 2005. Since then, its R&D and Metallurgy departments have invented and patented several varieties of ceramic including a world first in 2018 with bright red ceramic, and Magic Gold, the only scratch-resistant 18K gold alloy to fuse 24K gold with boron carbide.
With its chiseled structure, sharp bevels, facets and edges with striking angles, the design truly represents Orlinski’s artwork. In terms of size, these two monochrome models keep the 40mm diameter proportions of their alter ego. Even with artistic form, legibility is not compromised on. The polished faceted hands and indexes provide an incredibly strong contrast against the black or blue ceramic dial.
Both versions run on the same HUB1100 Self-winding Movement that offers a 42-hour power reserve. Worn on a Black or Blue Smooth Rubber Strap, the new Hublot Classic Fusion Orlinski 40mm is priced at $19,000 Australian Dollars.
