What is it about the Montblanc family that attracts you?
I was really delighted when Montblanc asked me whether I would consider being part of their family. I have always admired what the brand stands for, its fascinating history and the quality and uniqueness of the products they create. When such an iconic brand sends you an invitation to collaborate, you cannot really refuse.
Montblanc’s collections…
Unique, qualitative and fascinating.
A timepiece that best fits your temperament…
It’s a challenge keeping up with all the time zones I travel in. One of the best things about being Montblanc’s Global Brand Ambassador will be wearing one of their chronographs around my wrist. I know how sought-after they are, and I have a feeling they will keep me on time and on track wherever I am in the world. At the moment I am wearing the Meisterstu¨ck Heritage Perpetual Calendar. It is a timelessly elegant piece but it also features a great complication. It has a perpetual calendar that always shows the correct date and requires no manual adjustment. It definitely is a work of art, but it is also functional. And I have been told that each piece undergoes a 500-hour quality test. I feel privileged to be wearing it already as I hear it won’t be available until late summer!
You take on so many projects and are equally adept at comedy, drama, romance, singing and presenting…
I am open to anything as long as the script is good. I have a few scripts to read that cover a lot of different characters so we shall see what will be next!
You’re all set to return to theatre with “The River”. What are the different aspects of acting in movies versus ‘plays’ that you enjoy?
My first acting experience was theatre so I feel most comfortable on the stage. Performing in front of a live audience… there is nothing like it. Now, after many years I have become comfortable with film too. But stage is my first love.
What aspect of the watch world do you find most interesting and what are you most looking forward to in terms of your work with Montblanc?
I am really looking forward to discovering Montblanc’s ateliers in Hamburg, its two watch manufactures in the Swiss Jura and the Pelleteria manufacture in Florence. It is fascinating to see these products being designed with such inspiration, then created with precision by real craftsmen. I am also looking forward to supporting Montblanc’s outstanding work in the field of arts and culture.
Luxury you cannot live without…
My family is everything to me. As for the world, I couldn’t pick just one thing.
