Leonardo Da Vinci is a veritable inspiration and the Swiss watch manufacturer has evoked the genius of this multi-faceted man in its timepieces. However, the ones dedicated to women remain really special.
To celebrate the new Da Vinci collection, IWC Schaffhausen hosted an exclusive ladies’ luncheon at Sydney’s Beta Bar earlier in May this year. The venue reflected the historic references of the Da Vinci collection through the tall stone arch ways and brass structures housing romantic florals along the table.
“The new Da Vinci not only brings back the iconic round design which was established in this watch family during the 1980s. With the Da Vinci Automatic 36 and the Da Vinci Automatic Moon Phase 36, we are returning to the tradition of creating selected Da Vinci models specifically for women and adding diamonds and fashionable straps as features,” said Christian Westermeyer, Brand Director of IWC Schaffhausen Australia/New Zealand.
The watches have a distinctively feminine design. Gold cases, diamond-set- bezels and alligator leather straps by Santoni in raspberry, bronze, dark brown and dark blue add to the enigma. A watchmaker was also present on the day to take the ladies through the inner workings of IWC’s mechanical timepieces.
