Last year Bvlgari, unveiled the Octo Finissimo S, an update to the Octo Finissimo Automatic presented in 2017. This watch brought with it interesting updates such as, a stainless-steel design, the thinnest automatic movement and a water resistance of 100 meters, made possible by increasing the case just slightly to 6.4mm and adding a screw-down crown. At LVMH Watch Week 2021, Bvlgari unveiled a new monochromatic edition of its much loved Octo Finissimo S which seriously is a whole new level of wow!
This new stainless steel version features a 40mm steel satin-polished case with a new silver vertical-brushed monochromatic dial, looking particularly contemporary and striking against the radial brushed bezel. The polished applied markers and semi-skeletonized hands add a nice contrast. Measuring 6.40mm in height, the octagonal case is incredible thin making it the ideal everyday watch.
The finishing of the integrated stainless steel bracelet is spectacular with its brushed surfaces and polished accents. It fascinating to see how much definition this technique can bring to the overall design. The watch houses an automatic in-house ultra-thin caliber BVL 138 with micro-rotor (2.23 mm) and displays hours, minutes and uncentered small seconds at 7 o’clock. It operates at 21,600 vph and delivers a power reserve of 60 hours. Being a luxury sport watch, the model is water-resistant up to 100 meters with a polished steel screw-down crown set with ceramic.
