ADN is the French acronym for DNA, the building blocks of life, and Manufacture Royale’s latest timepiece, the ADN Spirit reaffirms the identity of Manufacture Royale and the brand’s unlimited creativity.
Drawing from the recognizable and iconic styles of their Opera and Androgyne collections, Manufacture Royale has taken its own design aesthetic and given it a new expression.
The 46mm case of the ADN Spirit has a softer, more fluid structure than the Opera and Androgyne watches, and features the brand’s signature mobile lugs and exposed screws on the bezel. The unique movable lugs ensure that despite its rather imposing size, the ADN Spirit fits comfortably even on smaller wrists.
The exposed screws also serve a dual-purpose by marking the hours on the skeletonized dial.
Time-Telling Machine
The ADN Spirit is available with a case made either from steel, or a combination of steel-DLC and forged carbon and is powered by Manufacture Royale’s in-house manual caliber MR010.
The components of the MR010 movement have been subjected to the highest levels of finishing, demonstrating Manufacture Royale’s prowess as makers of complex and superior timepieces.
The futuristic ADN Spirit was designed after immense research and development which led to the creation of 3-dimensional bridges which are coated with CVD. CVD is a transparent metal oxide which is deposited on the bridges and adds a sense of depth to the watch.
The ADN Spirit watch indicates hours and minutes with the seconds shown on a sub-dial placed at 9 o’clock. Hour numerals are displayed at 6 and 12 o’clock, and the balance wheel and barrel of the movement are visible at those respective positions as well.
The ADN Spirit is paired with a black alligator or Néburtec strap, fastened by a tri-fold steel clasp. Hollowed-out syringe type hands complete the innovative picture.
Definitely not a watch for the faint-hearted, the ADN Spirit makes a bold, yet strikingly aesthetic statement on the wrist.
