Oris’ famous Divers Sixty-Five – is a divers watch with over 40 years of watchmaking history and heritage. Over the years the Holstein based watchmaker has dropped numerous iterations keeping the legacy of the original 1965 model intact but adding the best advances of watchmaking into it. Building on the success of the all-bronze 250 piece Holstein Edition unveiled in 2020, for Watches & Wonders 2021, Oris presents 3 new all-bronze Divers Sixty-Five watches with a peppy palette of dial colours – sky blue, wild green or lipstick pink. Oris is aptly calling this range: Divers Sixty-Five ‘Cotton Candy’. Why ‘Cotton Candy’? Because in the words of Oris, “these are watches designed to bring warmth and the optimism of better times”.
For starters the Oris Divers Sixty-Five ‘Cotton Candy’ features an all bronze 38mm case, bezel, crown and bracelet combination complemented by a domed sapphire crystal. This alloy develops a unique patina over time, which gives it an antiquated appeal. The pushers, crown, markings on the bezel and the sides of the case are polished while the top surfaces are brushed. The case back is crafted from stainless steel. Every dial features large, circular hour markers while a subtle yellowish white SuperLuminova fills the hands and the indexes. There’s also a date window at 6 o clock.
The Oris Divers Sixty-Five ‘Cotton Candy’ is equipped with an automatic movement – calibre Oris 733 – with a basic 38-hour power reserve and is water-resistant to 10 bar (100 metres).
