Independent Swiss Watchmaker Oris, has a long tradition, not only in watchmaking but also in supporting the environment and our natural world. Yes Oris makes some pretty fine watches, but the one thing that has always fascinated me about the Holstein based watchmaker, is their involvement in the local community. The Oris Great Barrier Reef for instance is a great example of the company teaming up with the Reef Restoration Foundation to help preserve the eighth wonder of the world, Australia’s Great Barrier Reef.
Currently Victoria, New South Wales, Western Australia and South Australia are being ravaged by the most devastating bushfire seasons the country has ever seen, with more than 10 million hectares of land burned, over 2,000 homes lost and an estimated 1.25 billion animals killed across our nation to date. Sadly, the human cost is mounting also with lives lost, and homes and livelihoods destroyed.
In support of the recent bushfire relief efforts, Oris Australia will proudly donate $100 for each watch purchased from an Australian Authorised dealer in the month of January 2020.
Customers can simply scan their receipt and send a copy to peter.borghouts@oris.ch
Oris Australia will send the accumulated total to the Community Enterprise Foundation a joint fund set up by the Bendigo Bank and the Salvation Army.
