TAG Heuer Carrera Chronograph GMT
To celebrate 55 years since the Heuer Carrera was created, TAG Heuer unveiled a new Carrera with its Heuer 02 manufacture movement and a GMT function. This is a first for the brand and boy have they pulled it off well. The new Carrera Chronograph GMT has avante-garde written all over it and adopts the design codes and DNA of the Heuer Carrera, featuring the original “3-6-9” counter layout from 1963. The chronograph minutes and hours are at 3 and 9 o’clock, with the permanent small second at 6 o’clock and the date window at 4:30, completed by the GMT function.The second time zone, an ultra-practical feature that can be adjusted with the crown, is read using the lacquered red hand and the black and blue ceramic bezel, which has a 24-hour GMT scale. To ensure optimum legibility, the GMT hand has been ingeniously mounted in a secondary position — between the hour and minute hands — enabling it to pass over the indexes and skim the GMT scale. The Heuer 02 manufacture movement, visible through the skeleton dial, is housed inside a solid 45 mm steel case, water-resistant to 100 metres.

TAG Heuer Carrera Calibre 16 Chronograph
As a tribute to the brands’ rich automotive heritage, TAG Heuer has revisited its best-selling model this year to produce a stylish, vintage-inspired chronograph. First introduced in 1963, this model has become synonymous with motor sport timekeeping. The blue version of the Calibre 16 Chronograph comes with a touch of red in a 41mm polished steel case.

The three white counters stand out starkly against the dial featuring a white flange with a 60-second scale. The seconds counter is at 9 o’clock, the minute counter at 12 o’clock and the hour counter at 6 o’clock. The bezel is made from ceramic, and features a tachometer scale – a crucial component on an automotive chronograph. Finally the bracelet is made of steel for maximum comfort.
TAG Heuer Monaco Gulf 2018 Special Edition
Earlier this year at the Geneva Motor Show, TAG Heuer announced a global partnership with Gulf Oil International, one of the most well known sponsors in international motor sport. If you’re wondering where the relevance sits, TAG Heuer and Gulf Oil go way back. It was in the 70s, the ‘King Of Cool’, Steve McQueen wore a blue dial Heuer Monaco Calibre 11 Ref. 1133B throughout the filming of his movie ‘Le Mans’, while he drove a ‘Gulf’ themed (the famous blue with orange stripes) Porsche 917K. The new Monaco Gulf 2018 Special Edition is offered in a 39 x 39mm 3 part square-shaped steel case with two rectangular chronograph pushers on the right and the winding crown at 9 o clock (Inspired by the layout of the original 1970s Monaco). The dial is really where all the action is. TAG Heuer has gone with a deep blue metallic backdrop with contrasting stripes in bright blue and orange. These run vertical from top to bottom on the right side of the dial. There are two white sub-counters at 3 o clock and 9 o clock and the Gulf logo is above the date window at 6 o’clock. Powered by a Calibre 11 movement, the watch beats at a frequency 28,800 vibrations per hour (4 Hz) and has a power reserve of 40 hours. As a final nod to the partnership, the strap is made of perforated blue calfskin leather with orange stitching on the sides.
