Panerai’s Submersible collection has gathered some significant momentum in the last few months. In keeping with the DNA of the new Submersible Luna Rossa – 47 mm (PAM01039) unveiled at SIHH 2019 and the brands’ role as the official sponsor of the Luna Rossa, the Challenger of Record of the 36th Edition of the America’s Cup, Panerai unveiled three new references at SIAR, Salón Internacional Alta Relojería in Mexico City; the Luminor Luna Rossa Regatta – 47 mm (PAM01038), the Luminor Rossa Chrono Flyback – 44 mm (PAM01037), and the Luminor Luna Rossa GMT – 44 mm (PAM01036).
Significant, differentiated and challenging, all three models comply with the new colour code initiated by Luna Rossa and are constructed in light, sturdy and stress / corrosion resistant materials; selected and validated by the Panerai Laboratorio di Idee. The arty dark grey sail cloth dial with abstract textures is made using bits from actual sails on the Luna Rossa and is extremely captivating. On the mechanical front, the same bold level of technological innovation seen in materials is evident in the range of movements, a tangible technical achievement of the Panerai Manufacture in Neuchâtel. In them, complexity is translated into practicality, at the exclusive service of functionality.
A “Ponte Vecchio” calf leather strap, black with white stitching, and an additional strap made of black rubber, pairs beautifully with each of these models. The equipment is completed by a special box in sailcloth, personalised with the Panerai and Luna Rossa logos, as well as a certificate attesting to the authenticity of the sailcloth from the Luna Rossa which is also used on the dial of the watch.
