And another exceptional timepiece presented at Baselworld 2018 last month, by the watchmaking geniuses at Patek Philippe. The new Ladies’ Chronograph reminds us that horological complications designed specifically for women’s watches are not to be scoffed at.
When it was first introduced in 2009, the original Patek Philippe chronograph just for women, was aptly named the Ladies First Chronograph.
With the new Ladies Chronograph, the original gets a 2018 makeover, and a whole new look, while retaining its quintessentially vintage-inspired feel. The Ladies Chronograph features manually guilloched accents on the chronograph pushers, delicately fluted and curved lugs and gentle chambering on the crystal glass, creating a superior and pleasing aesthetic for a technically sophisticated timepiece.
Housing a manually-wound calibre, the Ladies’ Chronograph is an elegant 38mm round case crafted in 18K rose gold with a sapphire crystal case back. The bezel is set with 72 flawless white diamonds weighing approximately 0.78 carats. The diamonds add a subtle touch of grandeur to the refined timepiece, making it even more coveted by women everywhere.
The silvered-opaline dial indicates the hours and minutes with 18K rose gold central hands and includes a black nickel-plated sweep chronograph hand. A 30-minute counter sub-dial sits comfortably between 3 and 4 o’clock, complemented by a subsidiary seconds dial between 8 and 9 o’clock. The hands on the sub-dials are white-gold and plated in black nickel.
The only chronograph exclusively for women in Patek Philippe’s impressive repertoire, the Ladies’ Chronograph is slated to be amongst the best chronographs available for women. Complete with an alligator leather strap in a beautifully soft mink shade, which complements a vast array of skin tones, and wardrobe choices, the Patek Philippe Ladies’ Chronograph also has a scale that can measure the wearer’s heartbeat, making it a perfect accessory for an active woman. 27 flawless diamonds adorn the rose-gold buckle that fastens the strap.
