Seiko
March 3, 2016: Earlier in March, Seiko opened its first boutique in Australia, located on the lower ground floor of the iconic Queen Victoria Building in Sydney.
The choice of place for the boutique could not have been more apt. For over a century, QVB has been a Sydney landmark, first as a market, and since 1986, as home to a collection of luxury retail stores.
At an event held at the Swissotel Sydney, hosted by Seiko Watch Corporation COO Hirohiko Umemoto and Seiko Australia, Managing Director Toru Koizumi, the opening was attended by several of Seiko’s business partners, media representatives and watch collectors. The occasion was also celebrated by the Consul-General of Japan NSW, Mr. Masato Takaoka.
Aussie fans of Seiko will now have a chance to get up, close and personal with their favourite Seiko timepiece and a unique, exciting and intriguing opportunity to explore the world of Seiko through its history and craftsmanship. The boutique will showcase some of Seiko’s prestigious collections including Grand Seiko, Astron – the world’s first GPS solar watch and Credor and will also have
its very own resident Seiko watchmaker to assist customers with technical information and assistance. Congratulations to Seiko Australia and their milestone of opening their first Australian boutique.
